Didn’t make it to the 2025 Black Christian Influencer Conference? That’s okay. We were in the room, on the red carpet, in the crowd, and soaking it all in so we could recap all the good stuff. Whether you’re an influencer or someone who enjoys learning how to make an impact through faith, here are the five moments we’re still thinking about.
Juneteenth weekend brought hundreds of believers to Decatur, Georgia to laugh, dance, worship, and learn how to use their faith to create real impact. From red carpets and powerful panels to worship nights and surprise performances, the BCI Conference was so much more than just an event. It was a move of God, a cultural celebration, and a creative masterclass all wrapped in one.
1. Love is Funny: When Dating Got Real (and Hilarious)
Yes, there were way more women than men at the singles mixer hosted by comedian Whitney and her D’Angelo Moss of The Dating Project. But No, that didn’t stop the fun.
Part game show, part inspirational panel, and part matchmaking social, “Love is Funny” was a standout moment of the conference weekend. Comedian Matthew Hudson kept us laughing as the host and only single guy in a group of married friends.
Newlyweds Whitney and D’Angelo, along with Albaner and Ambyr Eugene shared heartfelt dating advice grounded in wisdom and testimony. This event gave us so much more than laughs, but real connection. Some walked away with new friends, others left encouraged to stay hopeful about love, and a few even walked away with new numbers for potential dates in their phones. If this show goes on tour, which we have a feeling it will, don’t miss it. If you’re anything like us, you’ll leave with a smile on your face.
2. Pastor Jerry Flowers Brought a Word to the BCI Honors Awards
Think about your favorite awards show, worship session, and conference all rolled into one. That was the BCI Honors Gala, which recognized excellence in faith-based influence, with personalized video tributes for each nominee and heartfelt speeches from the winners. But one of our favorite moments of the evening came from Pastor Jerry Flowers.
When he took the mic, he didn’t just preach. He pierced the heart of people in the room that will be felt by everyone they encounter once they left.
His message wasn’t about clout or content calendars. It was about stewardship and walking worthy of the influence God has given us. He reminded us that gifting without character is dangerous, and that calling requires discipline and humility.
We came for the awards. We left with conviction.
3. Mike Teezy Shut It Down Like It Was the Grammys
Nobody was ready for what Mike Teezy had planned. In a room full of content creators, influencers, and ministry leaders, he delivered a performance that felt straight out of any main stage in the world. We’re talking full-out choreography, background dancers, live vocals, and mic-on rapping that had the entire crowd locked in.It wasn’t just a performance. It was a statement that Christian artistry doesn’t have to dim its light to match the room. Mike brought excellence, energy, and anointing to the stage and left people saying, “Oh, this is different.”
4. Anike Premieres “Watch Her Glow” at The Ark
Just when we thought the night was over, artist Anike pulled up to the mic at Atlanta’s premiere Christian party, The Ark. .
Pregnant and glowing herself, Anike didn’t just debut her new song “Watch Her Glow.” She performed it in the middle of the dance floor, turning the club into a worship-cypher-dance break we didn’t know we needed.
It was spontaneous, raw, joyful, and powerful. A reminder that you don’t have to mute your praise to be relevant. You don’t have to shrink your light to fit the room. You can shine, and make space for others to glow too.

5. Influencer Sesh: Panels That Pushed Us to Build Well
If you came to learn, Friday’s general sessions did not disappoint. With a full day of panels and TED-style talks from creators, coaches, pastors, and founders, the Influencer Sesh made one thing clear: your influence needs a strategy.
A few highlights:
- “How to Create Content That Connects” (HarperCollins Christian Publishing) Real talk on building content that reaches people’s hearts, not just their feeds.
- “Faith & Influence in Uncertain Times” (The (&) Campaign) Honest conversations about holding your convictions in a digital world full of compromise.
- “Faith & Framework: Building a Spirit-Led Business” (Northwestern Mutual) A practical guide for creatives and entrepreneurs who want to scale without selling out.
- “Bridging Beats & Belief” (Holy Culture) Featuring artists who are blending sacred and street to create new spaces for God to move.
Speakers like Toni Collier, Justin Giboney, Porsha Love, Corey Arvinger, Brenda Palmer, and Ashley Kirkwood didn’t sugarcoat anything. They gave blueprints. They shared failure. They offered faith and frameworks. We didn’t just leave inspired. We left with tools.
Honorable Mention: The Acceptance Speeches That Felt Like Sermons
BCI doesn’t just hand out trophies, it platforms testimonies. The award acceptance speeches were full of truth, encouragement, and conviction. These weren’t quick thank-yous. They were mini messages that had us taking notes.
Ezekiel Azonwu, for example, accepted Podcast of the Year and reminded us that we may have many assignments but we only have one purpose: glorifying God. Every winner brought their own version of that same heart, and it made the BCI stage feel more like a pulpit than a podium.
Final Thoughts: This Was More Than a Conference
You could feel it in every breakout session, every late-night convo in the hallway, every prayer whispered in worship. This wasn’t just content and community, this was Kingdom.
BCI 2025 reminded us that you can be creative and convicted. That you can be strategic and Spirit-led. And that you don’t have to do it alone.
So if you missed it this year, that’s okay. But start making plans now. Because this wasn’t just an event. It was a moment. And if the 2025 conference was any indication, the movement is just getting started.
