We’ve seen almost every version of a Christmas romance story throughout the years. But, Lifetime is proving that we haven’t seen everything yet.
“Kirk Franklin’s A Gospel Christmas” is the very first gospel Christmas movie and gives us a fresh take on the film genre. The film puts a new spin on Christmas romance and follows the struggles of newly appointed lead Pastor Olivia Rashad (Demetria McKinney) who has to lean on her faith to get her small-town church ready for a Winter Jamboree.
The touching story is executive produced by Kirk Franklin whose legendary songs and musical arrangements are featured throughout the film. Aside from a cameo appearance from Franklin, the film features some more familiar faces in the form of Chaz Lamar Shepherd (Luke Cage), Angela Birchett (The Clark Sisters), Kendra C Johnson (Love Thy Neighbor), and Grammy winner Regina Belle.
Five:22 Culture got a chance to hear from the cast of the film ahead of its premiere. Check out why they’re excited about the movie:
